A man and his dog are safe after a house fire broke out southwest of downtown.

Fire Destroys Home Near Roaring Spring

A house fire, just outside Roaring Spring, has left one man homeless.  The fire, which destroyed the structure, broke out yesterday afternoon at a home located along the 1800 block of Bloomfield Road.  When firefighters, with the Friendship Volunteer Fire Company arrived on the scene, the home was fully involved.  Fortunately both the homeowner and his dog were able to escape without injury, however it’s uncertain if a pet cat and rabbit survive…
