OTTER TAIL COUNTY, Minn. – A barn and silo in rural Pelican Rapids are total losses after a 1976 Mercury car backfired leading to a fire. Crews were called around 4:30 PM on Wednesday, June 10 to the 23000 block of State Highway 108 east of town. A father and son trying to start the car with starting fluid lead to flames catching onto the 125-year-old barn and later a wooden silo. The flames were put out by firefighters.
