Emergency crews called to Victoria national historic site for reports of smoke

Reports of smoke at a national historic site drew a large fire and police response on Monday afternoon. Dan Atkinson, Victoria’s fire chief, says crews were called around 2:45 p.m. “We received reports that there was light smoke showing from the roof,” he said. “Upon arrival we did determine very quickly that there was fire burning on the top floor.” Atkinson says crews entered and were very quickly able to get it under control.
