On the Altrhein near Kehl, the fire brigade trains risky ice rescues – and thus reminds us of an operation that ended with the death of a child.
A water rescuer comes to the aid with an ice rescue sledge of a person broken into the ice. The sledge and the water rescuer are secured by a rope. During the exercise on the soot pond in Eschenbach the broken person was also secured by a rope from the shore.
