The first line of the Warsaw metro has been partially restored to traffic. Trains are running according to the schedule announced yesterday by the capital's authorities. According to the mayor of Warsaw, it can be expected that all stations, except for Racławicka, will be ready for use by Wednesday.
Warsaw residents commuting to work on Wednesday morning had to arm themselves with patience. A fire that had broken out the day before in the cable tunnel at the Racławicka station paralyzed underground rail traffic in the capital and forced the city to take immediate crisis action.
