Fighting between central Somalia clans kills at least 55, residents say
A clash between the Dir and Marihan clans in central Somalia resulted in 55 deaths and 155 injuries, sparked by disputes over grazing land and watering points.
Both clans, who previously collaborated against al Shabaab, engaged in the violent conflict on Saturday in Abudwaq and Herale towns.
Despite government forces arriving late, the situation was eventually controlled after federal soldiers intervened, ending the fighting.
