FIFA announced higher Penalties for Racism

Racism in football will be expensive for clubs in the future. According to FIFA's decision, more than five million euros of punishment instead of a maximum of one million are now possible.

This decision was taken by the FIFA Council on Friday.

FIFA will be able to impose significantly higher fines for racist incidents than before. Up to five million Swiss francs (just over 5.3 million euros) are possible instead of the previous maximum of one million. The FIFA Council has approved a corresponding change to the disciplinary code.
