The stalemate that dominated the Balmazújváros council of representatives seemed unsolvable until now. However, in today's by-election, the balance of power shifted in favor of the ruling parties. Many saw the current clash as of national importance, as no opposition party fielded a candidate against Fidesz, only a politician from the local opposition association and an independent candidate entered the ring.
