Project Rally One leads as the first tuner constructor under new WRC27 rules featuring a $345,000 cost cap and about 300 horsepower, aiming for a 2027 debut.
- Recently, Project Rally One is the WRC's first officially tuner-led constructor, with chassis design complete and prototype assembly now underway.
- The WRC27 technical regulations are designed to be more affordable and flexible to attract new manufacturers, and opening homologation to tuners allowed Matton and Hansen to enter after working on the Porsche 992 Rally GT this year.
- Built to a 345,000 cost cap, the car will deliver approximately 300 horsepower, use a space-frame chassis, and undergo more than 6,000km of development testing.
- The entry of Project Rally One places a tuner-led constructor alongside established makers such as Toyota, illustrating the WRC27 vision is beginning to deliver growth and diversity, FIA technical director Xavier Mestelan Pinon said.
- Project Rally One will seek homologation for 2027 by producing 10 cars within 24 months and committing two cars to at least 50% of the WRC calendar.
