Ferrari Replaces Marketing Chief After Luce EV Launch Backlash
Former BMW Italy boss Massimiliano Di Silvestre takes over after the Luce launch wiped roughly 8% off Ferrari’s stock, the company said.
On Tuesday, Ferrari appointed former BMW Italy head Massimiliano Di Silvestre as its new chief marketing and commercial officer, effective July 1, replacing Enrico Galliera after more than 16 years.
Galliera's departure follows the rocky debut of the Luce, Ferrari's first electric car, which triggered widespread criticism over its unconventional design and wiped roughly 8% off Ferrari's stock in a single day.
Di Silvestre brings more than two decades of international luxury automotive experience and led BMW Italy for almost seven years, helping the German company gain a leading position in Italy's premium auto market in 2024 and 2025.
CEO Benedetto Vigna remains in charge, having set the electrification plan in motion after 26 years at STMicroelectronics, and thanked Galliera for his "extraordinary contribution" to the brand's growth.
Despite design backlash, Vigna insisted the Luce is "clocking up orders" from new and existing customers, with Ferrari expected to provide precise figures when releasing second-quarter results at the end of July.
The manager takes the place of Enrico Galliera, from 16 years in Maranello and front hand at the launches of the Cavallino rampante, that will face a new professional path
After criticism of the electric SUV Luce, the Italian sports car manufacturer replaces the marketing manager. The new man comes from the German competitor BMW and is to reposition the brand.
