The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has confirmed it is selling its warehouse in Salt Lake City and abandoning plans to build a detention center, at least at that location.
The federal government has confirmed this Wednesday, through a new court document, that it no longer plans to build a new Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility in Salt Lake City. This information was filed in a motion to suspend the lawsuit filed in June by Salt Lake City and County against the center’s project.
