Frenchman Romain Febvre is the new leader in the Motocross World Championship. At the race in Agueda, Portugal, where the previous leader, Slovenian Tim Gajser, did not compete due to injury, he jumped to the top of the MXGP class with a second place. The only Slovenian representative in Agueda, Jan Pancar, was 11th, and the winner was Belgian Lucas Coenen.

The Belgian Red Bull KTM factory driver Lucas Coenen won the first MXGP race for the Grand Prix of Portugal in Agueda ahead of Romain Febvre (Kawasaki). Febvre is thus the new World Cup leader.
