Fanny Biascamano, a candidate in the 1997 edition of the competition, died on December 27 following a long illness, according to our colleagues at Midi Libre.
The Sète-born singer's family announced her death on Sunday as a result of cancer. She had made herself known to the general public thanks to her visit to "Sacrée soirée" in 1991 and her participation in Eurovision in 1997.
Fanny Biascamano, a former child-star who became an iconic voice of the 1990s, died at 46 years of age as a result of a long illness. Revealed at 12 years old in Sacrée soirée before representing France at Eurovision in 1997, the Setoise singer left the memory of a singular journey marked by success and then by a choice assumed to distance herself from the scene.
Originally from Sète, the singer who represented France at Eurovision in 1997, went away on Saturday 27 December 2025.
Singer Fanny Biascamano died at the age of 46 as a result of a long illness. The latter was made known by the interpretation of Edith Piaf's "Man on the Motorcycle".
