FanDuel, CME Group launch prediction markets in five US states
FanDuel Predicts lets users trade contracts on financial indexes, sports, and cultural events, with a phased rollout starting in five states and expanding nationally by early 2026.
- On Dec. 22, 2025, FanDuel Group and CME Group launched FanDuel Predicts in Alabama, Alaska, South Carolina, North Dakota and South Dakota, starting a phased national rollout.
- FanDuel said the launch aims to expand access to financial and sports markets for millions of U.S. customers over the coming months, building on a tie-up unveiled earlier this year with CME.
- Available on the Apple App Store and Google Play, the app integrates FanDuel's "Know Your Customer" sign-up and offers event contracts priced $0.01 to $0.99 covering benchmarks like the S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100.
- Piper Sandler analysts estimate CME could earn more than $300 million from the joint venture as it seeks to become the preferred exchange for sportsbooks in prediction markets.
- Over the coming weeks, the platform will expand to all 50 states, offering contracts on benchmarks like the S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, and economic indicators, said Lynne Fitzpatrick, with CME prediction markets enabling a new generation of users.
