Family slammed for disturbing nesting birds at nature reserve
Visitors at Arne Nature Reserve disturbed nesting birds by posing for a watch camera and throwing cigarette butts in bird hides despite no-smoking signs.
Footage showed a kayaking family ignoring 'no landing – wildlife only' signs near breeding oystercatchers and making faces at a monitoring camera.
The RSPB reported increased antisocial behavior causing unnecessary disturbance to wildlife and risking the protected landscape.
Cigarette butts were dumped in bird hides despite a red wildfire alert, putting wildlife and the Dorset reserve at risk.
