A complaint for human rights violations was filed with the UN on Monday by relatives of about 65 people killed in the deadly mega-fire in Valparaiso. The action points to the State for negligence during the tragedy, and the lack of subsequent action, and seeks for the international organization to ask the Government for explanations, recommend reparation measures and monitor compliance with them.
Congressman Tomás Lagomarsino (Radical Party), who presided over the Commission of Inquiry into the mega-fire in the Valparaíso Region, supported the complaint of the victims against the State of Chile to the UN for violation of their human rights.
