Special prosecutor reviewing death of Lake County councilman’s wife
Indiana State Police Spokesman Sgt. Glen Fifield confirmed Thursday that the case of Nicole Mabon-Brewer was passed on to a special prosecutor for review. Mabon-Brewer, 47, of Gary was found dead Sept. 3, 2025, and the Lake County Coroner’s Office in December officially ruled her cause of death as “undetermined.”
