In September 2024 in Fréjus, a group of friends thought that they had trapped a paedophile on social media. Believing that they had an appointment with a young girl, the victim - suffering from autism - was extorted by 530 euros before being subjected to an attempt to blackmail. On Thursday 17 September, two individuals were sentenced to 12 months suspended by the Draguignan Correctional Court.
