Fadiel Adams Granted R10 000 Bail
The magistrate imposed strict conditions after prosecutors said Adams interfered in the investigation into Sindiso Magaqa’s 2017 murder.
On Friday, Pinetown Magistrate Wendalyn Robinson granted National Coloured Congress leader Fadiel Adams R10,000 bail after a high-stakes hearing on his alleged interference in a murder investigation.
Arrested on May 5 by the Political Killings Task Team, Adams faces charges of fraud and defeating the administration of justice related to the 2017 murder probe of ANC Youth League leader Sindiso Magaqa.
Advocate Yuri Gangai defended Adams, dismissing State arguments as "non-existent" and asserting "no one owns witnesses" regarding his client's alleged witness contact during the bail hearing.
Robinson imposed strict conditions: Adams must report to the Mitchells Plain police station on Tuesdays and Saturdays and cannot contact South African Police Service or Department of Correctional Services witnesses.
The matter was postponed for three months to allow for investigation completion, with Adams scheduled to reappear in the Pinetown Magistrate's Court on August 14, 2026.
