An explosion ripped through the fifth floor of a former hotel housing asylum seekers in Delft early Saturday, blowing out part of the building’s exterior, AD reports. Emergency services say the blast occurred around 8 a.m. and was likely caused by the battery of an electric scooter.
An explosion occurred Saturday morning at a former hotel in Delft housing asylum seekers. A spokesperson for the safety region confirmed reports from Regio15 that part of the facade on the fifth floor was blown away. Although residents had to temporarily evacuate the building on Kleveringweg, he said there was "not much for the fire department to do."
