Expert endometriosis care helps women find answers sooner at MUSC Women’s Health

At MUSC Women's Health in Charleston, Poston, a fellowship-trained minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon, performed outpatient surgery in late December removing endometriosis from Stokes' bladder, colon and pelvis, and Stokes was discharged the same day.
Specialists note endometriosis is a complex, systemic disease affecting more than 11% of U.S. women ages 15–44, with an average diagnostic delay of seven to 10 years, Poston explained.
