‘The Conjuring: First Communion’ Prequel Movie Casts Young Ed and Lorraine Warren
Garrett Wareing and Amanda Fix take over the lead roles as the franchise continues after the horror series passed $2.7 billion worldwide, New Line said.
- New Line Cinema has cast Garrett Wareing and Amanda Fix as young Ed and Lorraine Warren in The Conjuring: First Communion, a prequel exploring the early years of the paranormal investigators within the Conjuring Universe.
- Although last year's The Conjuring: Last Rites was billed as the final installment, the series continues due to its enduring success. The Conjuring Universe remains the highest-grossing horror franchise of all time, earning over $2.7 billion globally.
- Rodrigue Huart will direct the prequel from a screenplay written by franchise veterans Richard Naing and Ian Goldberg. Peter Safran is producing for the Safran Company, with John Rickard, Natalia Safran, and Romel Adam serving as executive producers.
- The casting marks a new chapter for the franchise, which previously featured Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as the adult versions of the famous couple. It remains unclear whether Wilson and Farmiga will appear in the upcoming film.
- Warner Bros. is expanding the universe with The Revenge of La Llorona, set for release on April 9, 2027, while The Conjuring: First Communion will officially haunt theaters on September 10, 2027.
