Exclusive INSA survey: That's what the Germans think about the AfD earthquake

After the far-right classification of the AfD by the constitutional protection almost half of the Germans advocate a ban. In the current survey, opinions on the consequences for democracy are divided.

37 percent of respondents opposed a ban on the German party. The AfD is backed by the FPÖ, Hungary and the US State Department.

61 percent of Germans consider the AfD to be a right-wing extremist party. 48 percent, according to a representative survey, want it to be banned.

For the protection of the constitution, the AfD is now regarded as a secure far-right. Since then, voices that demand a ban on the party have become louder. In the population there would be a majority for this – but only a relative one.
