Nuclearelectrica has positioned itself to buy approximately 300 tons of uranium concentrate from Niger, almost a third of the huge stock blocked for months in the Niamey airport area. The transaction, which could be worth around $40 million, would help Romania secure its raw material for nuclear fuel production, but Bucharest's entry into the deal risks being hit by an international dispute between Niger and the French giant Orano.
