Both the new chairman and the two newly elected vice-chairmen of the Greenlandic social democratic party Siumut have been in the media for quite specific reasons.
Aleqa Hammond was unexpectedly elected leader of the Siamut party in Greenland at an extraordinary general meeting this weekend. She resigned as leader of the national government and was expelled from the party after she admitted to embezzling public funds almost a decade ago.
After scandals and exclusion, Aleqa Hammond is once again the chairwoman of the governing party Siumut in Greenland.
