Turkey Leg Hut Owner Lynn Price Pleads Guilty to Federal Conspiracy Charge in Bar 5015 Arson Case
Price admitted he directed others to ignite the bar, and prosecutors said the blast caused significant damage and endangered nearby homes and businesses.
On Thursday, former Turkey Leg Hut co-owner Lyndell Price pleaded guilty in federal court to conspiracy to commit arson, admitting he directed others to set fire to Bar 5015 six years ago.
Prosecutors allege Price orchestrated the 2020 arson after bar owner Steve Rogers refused to sell his interest in the Turkey Leg Hut, prompting Price to recruit accomplices to target the Museum District-area business.
Investigators said the group "poured gasoline across the entrance ramp and deck" before igniting the liquid on June 12, 2020, causing $750,000 in damage and endangering nearby homes.
Price, along with co-defendants Armani Williams and Miziah Shepherd, awaits sentencing on Sept. 25, facing five to 20 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
This plea marks a significant development as the third of five charged defendants to admit guilt in the case, while the Turkey Leg Hut closed permanently in 2024 after financial lawsuits.
