- Williams, a three-star recruit from Lafayette Christian Academy, is transferring to enhance his NBA prospects after playing one season at Tulane.
- The 19-year-old Williams, who averaged 9.3 points and shot 41.5% from 3-point range in 33 games for the Green Wave, also drew interest from Baylor, Florida, Louisville, Texas Tech, Texas, LSU, and Arkansas.
- Williams told ESPN, "Not many people get opportunities like this, so I wanted to pull the trigger fast," and "My dream is to play in the NBA."
- Williams believes Kentucky's culture and player development, along with the need to replace six of their top seven scorers, will provide a significant platform to improve his NBA standing, especially as Kentucky prepares to face Tennessee in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 in Indianapolis on Friday night.
