The world record holder in the pole vault, the Swedish athlete Armand Duplantis, will be ready for the upcoming European Championship in Birmingham, after he recently withdrew from the Diamond League meeting in London due to an injury, the Swedish public service reported.
"After a professional examination, which included an MRI and X-ray, there were no signs of injury. With some light training and sufficient treatment, he should be fully fit within ten days."
Restored from his injury, the world recordr of pole jumping will take part in the Euro-Athletics in Birmingham, mid-August.
The Diamond League meeting in London last weekend left the pole-high jump dominator Armand Duplantis. Due to pain at the Abduktor, the world record holder could not finish the competition in the English capital properly, only second behind the American Sam Kendricks. Now it is clear whether something stands in the way of the start of Sweden at the Athletics-EM in August.
Swedish track star Armand Duplantis is not seriously injured after problems that kept him from finishing a Diamond League race in London and will definitely compete at the European Championships in Birmingham next month, his agent Daniel Wessfeldt told AFP.
