Chacarra Wins Italian Open for 2nd Straight European Tour Title and a Place in British Open
Eugenio Chacarra finished 24-under par and won by five shots, adding a second straight European Tour title and a place in golf’s oldest major.
On Sunday, June 28, 2026, Eugenio Chacarra won the Italian Open by five shots, capturing his second consecutive European tour title after winning the KLM Open earlier in June.
Shooting 7-under 64, Chacarra finished the week at 24-under par, outpacing Matt Wallace, who placed second alone with a score of 67.
"I'm very proud of myself," Chacarra said, describing the final stretch as a "good fight" against two world-class players he managed effectively.
The victory earned the Spaniard a spot in the British Open at Royal Birkdale next month, marking his debut in golf's oldest major.
"I've always dreamed of playing it," Chacarra said of the British Open, planning to celebrate briefly before focusing on his major championship debut.
