The arbitration awards of the International Sports Court (CAS) have been binding - until now. According to the recent ECJ ruling, an appeal must be possible before a state court.
Rulings handed down by the highest court in international sport will no longer have to be final in the future. The EU ruling came on Friday and could also give the Fifa leadership an extra headache.
