The European Union has asked China to voluntarily limit its exports of hybrid cars in an attempt to avert a trade war, the British newspaper Financial Times (FT) reported on Thursday, citing sources familiar with the situation. According to the sources, Brussels is demanding that Chinese exports should account for a maximum of around 15 percent of the EU's hybrid car market. Currently, this share is more than a third.
