Europe 17/10/2025 – energydelamer.eu. Draft legislation adopted on Thursday 16 October aims to protect the Union's interests from the use of energy supplies as a weapon by the Russian Federation. On Thursday, the Committees on Industry, Research and Energy, as well as on International Trade, approved a draft ban on imports of Russian natural gas – be it gas transported by pipeline or liquefied natural gas (LNG) – from 1 January 2026.
