- On Monday, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola announced a ban on all Iranian diplomats and representatives from Parliament premises in Brussels, Strasbourg and Luxembourg until revoked.
- Reacting to the crackdown on protesters, the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency reported more than 10,600 detentions and over 500 deaths amid Iran's repression of demonstrators.
- Iranian passport holders will face screening at entry and regime workers will be denied access, Metsola wrote, 'This House will not aid in legitimising this regime that has sustained itself through torture, repression, and murder' on X.
- Officials are pressing for new sanctions, with the European Commission preparing to target individuals tied to human rights abuses, while designating the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organisation remains under discussion.
- Under existing rules, adding someone to the terrorist list requires a judicial decision from one of the 27 EU member states, but the Dusseldorf Higher Regional Court ruling and support from Ursula von der Leyen, Germany, France, and the Netherlands bolster the effort.
