The Dutch environmental organization Both ENDS is filing a complaint in Brussels against New Zealand, alleging that the country is failing to comply with climate agreements from a two-year-old trade agreement with the European Union. Last year, the New Zealand government lifted a ban on the search for new offshore oil and gas fields. It also recently introduced legislation that made an ongoing climate case against a dairy company impossible.
