The North Sea Canal Area Environment and Planning Service is working on the revocation of the permits for Tata Steel's coke gas plants in IJmuiden due to structural exceedances of environmental standards, including excessive emissions of harmful substances.
Tata Steel is threatening to close the two coke gas plants (KGF 1 and 2). The North Sea Canal Area Environment Agency, responsible for environmental supervision and enforcement, has announced its intention to revoke the permits. "The reason for this is structural exceedances of environmental standards, including excessive emissions of substances of very high concern."
