France to ease tensions between farmers and green police

After protests and threats, the government offers olive branch to farmers.

In an attempt to ease tensions with farmers, the Minister of Ecological Transition Agnès Pannier-Runacher presented this Thursday, 17 April, a series of measures supposed to renew the dialogue between the French Biodiversity Office (OFB) and the agricultural world. However, these announcements, considered harmful to respect for environmental law, are very badly received by the OFB trade unions.

Annie Genevard, Minister of Agriculture, and Agnes Pannier-Runacher, Minister of Ecological Transition presented the measures proposed by OFB to improve its relationship with the agricultural world.

Among the measures presented this Thursday, the sustainability of the "discreet weapon" during the controls, strongly contested by the trade unions of the French Biodiversity Office (OFB).

The government has unveiled ten measures concerning the operation of the French Biodiversity Office in an attempt to ease the anger of some farmers towards this environmental policy.
