Premier League to Crack Down on Goalkeepers 'Feigning Injury' with a New Trial Rule

- Under the proposed trial, managers have 10 seconds to nominate a substitute to leave the pitch for one minute following goalkeeper treatment. Exceptions apply if the keeper receives attention for collision, suspected concussion, or bleeding.
- If the International Football Association Board grants permission, the trial could debut during Saturday's Carabao Cup preliminary round match between Tranmere Rovers and Rochdale. This would mark the first time the regulation appears in English professional football.
- The Premier League, English Football League, National League, and Women's Super League have all backed the measure. These organizations await final clearance from the International Football Association Board before implementing the new mandate.
