The European Union imported approximately 4.48 billion euros worth of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia in the first half of 2025, more than in the same period last year, the EU's statistical office Eurostat said on Monday.
Large-scale import bans apply to coal and oil, but Moscow's gas continues to arrive in the EU. According to the European Commission, this should change in the coming years.
