Emirates Airbus A380 to Debut on Flights to India’s Capital

Emirates said the move follows strong demand in India and will add Premium Economy on six Indian routes.

  • On Thursday, Emirates announced it will introduce its flagship Airbus A380 on flights between Dubai International Airport and Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport starting October 25, 2026, joining Mumbai and Bengaluru as the third A380 destination in India.
  • Strong travel demand prompted the carrier to expand its footprint, offering customers the choice between flying to Delhi on an A380 or a Boeing 777, both featuring a four-class configuration.
  • Additionally, the daily service between Kolkata and Dubai, flights EK570 and EK571, will transition from the Boeing 777 to the Airbus A350 on October 25, 2026, while Boeing 777 service remains on Delhi flights EK511, EK515, and EK517.
  • Premium Economy availability will expand to six Indian cities—Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Kochi—covering nearly half of the airline's scheduled weekly flights to India.
  • Adnan Kazim, Emirates Deputy President and CCO, stated, "Emirates long-standing commitment to India is reflected in the continued rollout of our latest products, designed to enhance the travel experience," noting further enhancements are in the pipeline.
