June 6 marks a special 50-year anniversary in Grand County history. Emily Warner broke barriers in 1973 as the first female pilot hired by a U.S. commercial airline. Three years later, she was promoted to airline captain. Warner was born in Denver but lived in Grand County for 25 years.
