Elijah Wood joined a hobbit-themed wedding at Hobbiton set while in New Zealand for Armageddon Expo, surprising the couple and posing for photos, event sources said.
- On Tuesday, October 29, Elijah Wood unexpectedly showed up and crashed a couple's hobbit-themed wedding at the Hobbiton movie set in Matamata, New Zealand, as captured by Hobbiton Tours on TikTok.
 - Wood was in New Zealand for the Armageddon Expo with franchise co-star Andy Serkis and paid a visit to the Hobbiton set, which hosts fan nuptials as a tourist attraction.
 - Dressed casually, Wood ran down the aisle, posed for photos with the couple, officiant, and photographer, and said `This is amazing, and everyone is dressed as hobbits!` as Howard Shore's score played.
 - Hobbiton shared hi-res photos from the wedding's photographer after posting the clip online, with fans commenting 'An unforgettable wedding in The Shire' on TikTok.
 - The Matamata set's long history shows why the moment resonated, as thirty-nine Hobbit Holes were dug across 12 acres and The Lord of the Rings trilogy earned 17 Oscars.
