High electricity prices are due to outages of submarine cables and low wind

Experts say that Monday's exceptionally high electricity exchange price is due to two decommissioned international submarine cables, but the price is also significantly affected by calm weather.

Due to the disconnection of the NordBalt connection with Sweden on Saturday, a surge in electricity prices was recorded on the Nord Pool electricity exchange on Monday.

In Northern Norway, there will be an average price for electricity of 8.07 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) on Monday and a maximum price of 19.1 cents.
