In the regional elections of 20 September in the German region of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, false testimonies probably generated by IA made it appear that ballots were present without mention of the far right party Alternative für Deutschland. In Berlin, where an election was also being held, another false sequence made it appear that AfD ballots were being destroyed.
In connection with the state elections in Germany, videos of forged ballots have been circulated, the German news agency DPA reports. This may be disinformation from a Russian-backed campaign that has previously been linked to similar videos.
In social media there are videos, which supposedly show postal ballots, on which the AfD is supposed to be missing. They are fakes. The trail leads - once again - to Russia.
Berlin - Sunday's regional elections in the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Berlin were accompanied by an online campaign with fake videos and photos aimed at casting doubt on the voting process and democratic institutions, the Tagesschau portal reported today, adding that many clues point to a Russian influence operation.
