Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, FromSoftware's Nintendo Switch 2 Exclusive Version, Has Been Delayed
The delay aims to fix frame rate drops and performance issues seen in handheld mode, ensuring a smoother experience for players on the Nintendo Switch 2.
- On October 23, 2025 Bandai Namco and FromSoftware said they moved the Nintendo Switch 2 launch to 2026 `to allow time for performance adjustments` and apologised for the delay.
- Months ago, public demos at Gamescom revealed visible issues in handheld mode, with IGN calling the Switch 2 build `a disaster in handheld mode` due to frame rate drops and confusing controls.
- The Tarnished Edition bundles the base game and Shadow of the Erdtree plus Knight of Ides, Heavy Armored Knight, three Torrent customisations, four armour sets and new weapons.
- Players will now wait longer to explore the Lands Between on Nintendo Switch 2, and journalists said taking extra time to improve smoothness appears wise given previewed issues.
- The port was announced in April and originally planned for this year, but no firm date has been set within 2026 for Elden Ring Tarnished Edition.
