Suspect in Custody Days After Mass Shooting at Oklahoma Lake that Left 1 Dead, 22 Injured
Police said more than 100 witnesses were at the gathering as investigators searched for the shooter and no arrests were made by late Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Edmond Police confirmed an 18-year-old woman died from injuries sustained during Sunday's mass shooting at Arcadia Lake, which left nearly two dozen others wounded.
The shooting began Sunday night after a fight escalated at an "unsanctioned party that began after dark and was advertised across multiple social media platforms," police said.
Police identified approximately 23 victims with injuries ranging from gunshot wounds to shrapnel, noting most individuals struck were not involved in the initial altercation.
Edmond Police Sgt. James Hamm said investigators are working "around the clock" following leads, though authorities have not released suspect information to "maintain the integrity of the investigation."
The family of 18-year-old Avianna Smith-Gray, identified as the victim in critical condition, spoke publicly on Tuesday as authorities urge anyone with photos or information to contact the department.
