EDF expands gold market to districts
Export Development Fund (EDF), an investment arm of the Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM), is establishing four additional gold trading centres in Karonga, Mzimba, Mangochi and Blantyre to expand access to the country’s formal gold market. The expansion comes as Malawi has, so far, purchased 1.63 tonnes of gold, equivalent to approximately 1,630 kilogrammes (kg), since the establishment of the formal gold market.
