Ed Sheeran's Loop Tour Gets New Opening Acts
Former The Fray singer Isaac Slade and American Idol contestant Brooks Rosser will join the tour after Macklemore’s removal led to multiple opener exits.
Last weekend, Ed Sheeran added former The Fray lead singer Isaac Slade and American Idol contestant Brooks Rosser as opening acts for his Loop Tour, with Rosser confirmed for the October 10 Indianapolis date.
Sheeran's previous opener, rapper Macklemore, was removed from the tour following comments regarding Gaza, prompting supporting acts including Finneas, Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe, and Beoga to drop out in solidarity.
After performing in Atlanta on October 3, Slade confirmed his participation on Instagram, posting: "See you out there." He will perform in Indianapolis, Charlotte, Arlington, and Tampa through November.
Macklemore announced a three-date "Free Palestine" tour in Dublin, Paris, and London, which he said "sold out immediately," with proceeds supporting Palestinian organizations.
Sheeran stated the removal was the promoter's decision, not his own, as the tour continues with remaining dates scheduled in Chile, Paraguay, Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico.
All the support acts had left Ed Sheeran's tour after Macklemore's unloading because of statements about Israel and Gaza. Now there's a warm-up program at the stadium concerts again. Politically, it won't polarize.
