Earth is now heating up twice as fast as in previous decades: Study

The Planet is Heating Faster Than Ever Before
The pace of global warming has nearly doubled since 2015, a new study published today in Geophysical Research Letters has found—meaning that we could breach the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial temperatures before 2030. Between 1970 and 2015, global mean surface temperature tended to follow a steady trend, rising at an average rate of 0.2°C per decade. But by 2015, that changed—over the past ten years, th…
A new study by the Potsdam Institute detects statistically significant acceleration: 0.35°C per decade, compared with less than 0.2°C between 1970 and 2015. The risk limit of Paris before 2030.
The rate of global warming is accelerating, study finds
Earth has been steadily warming since the start of the Industrial Revolution, when humans began emitting greenhouse gases at scale. And while the rate of warming has been largely constant for the past half-century, a recent study finds it has accelerated over the last decade — an alarming trend for Earth systems, biodiversity and human […]
Global warming would have accelerated in a "statistically significant" way since 2015, even if the question of an increase in the rate of global warming caused
According to a study, global warming has accelerated since 2015. A German-American research team reports in the journal "Geophysical Research Letters" that global temperature has risen by an average of 0.2 degrees Celsius per decade from 1970 to 2015 - in the decade after that it was already about 0.35 degrees.
For the first time I have been able to prove to my researchers that the Earth has been warming up much faster than before since 2015. But is that really so – and what could it be?
