- A valve regulating water movement did not open during repair work at a pump station linked to a 10-million-gallon water tank on Tuesday, causing an outage.
- Crews began excavating soil 20 feet underground to access the faulty valve, expecting the excavation to take 14 to 16 hours before repairs could start.
- The Department of Water & Power urged customers to conserve water for 24 hours, recommended turning off sprinklers and appliances, and set up drinking water distribution at three local parks; Mayor Karen Bass said the city is mobilizing to address the outage and support affected residents.
