DWP April benefit rule change to give some families £3,650 a year
- On March 18 the DWP confirmed the law ending the two-child limit comes into force April 6, 2026, allowing families on Universal Credit to claim for every child.

- The Government projects up to 1.5 million children could benefit and the change carries an estimated £3bn-a-year price tag, affecting 469,780 households with around 60% having at least one parent in work.
